I help founders uncover the value they are too close to see, translate it for customers, partners and investors, and turn it into clearer positioning, stronger opportunities and practical growth.
Especially valuable when people say “we need this” after the demonstration, but struggle to understand it before the conversation. For cycling brands and destinations, my activation practice lives at Cycling Incubators. Liever Nederlands? Lees de Nederlandse versie.
Strong businesses should not need to become louder, more generic or less human to be valued.
I create distance and direction by asking better questions, recognising patterns and connecting strategy with human stories.
We turn overlooked value into clear positioning, trusted stories and focused growth your team can repeat.
A strong product does not automatically create a clear story, qualified demand or investor confidence. These three gaps appear repeatedly in founder-led businesses with genuine substance.
Customers value more than your website or proposals currently express. What once explained the business now hides its strongest proof, newest capabilities and most valuable opportunities.
Customers, partners, employees and investors need different reasons to care. When every audience receives the same explanation, a valuable but complex company becomes harder to understand than it needs to be.
The founder sees ten possible routes forward. The team needs one testable next step. Without small experiments, important ideas either wait for perfection or become expensive projects before anyone has learned what works.
I become close enough to understand the business, but remain far enough outside it to see what the people inside can no longer see. That is the Outside-In advantage.
A six-month strategic partnership combining monthly online build sessions, a 90-minute founder walk and direct access between sessions. Not a fixed coaching curriculum: a structured process applied to the commercial reality of your business.
Find the undervalued potential. Make it understandable. Create the conditions for customers, partners or media to act. Reach matters here only when it contributes to qualified commercial progress.
His original plan was to raise €100.000 and give away part of the business. By uncovering what clients already valued, we created and sold a clearer, higher-value offer. He kept 100% ownership, and the collaboration returned 10x its investment within nine months.
As the first communications hire, I clarified a highly technical product for riders, media and partners. We prepared the earned-media system before the moment arrived, so Marianne Vos winning the Gravel World Championship on GRAVAA became international proof within hours.
When Pilot could not attend CyclingWorld Düsseldorf, I represented the brand on the show floor while running the collaboration with their team 100% remotely. Combined with Morocco and amplification by DT Swiss, Schwalbe, Pinion and Vittoria, the rider-first stories connected premium product proof to measurable demand.
I designed and self-produced a mobile-first field story in which six brands became useful parts of a credible rider experience. The partners earned attention because the audience saw products solving real needs, not logos interrupting an adventure.
For organisations including Visit Luxembourg, Cycling in Flanders and Go Türkiye, I connected destination identity to the motivations of real riders, then translated that into strategy, stories, routes and partnerships people could actually use. The approach generated repeatable reach without paid ads or licence costs.
His broad perspective on cycle tourism, active mobility and funding, combined with his energy and talent for making new connections, often leads to fresh insights and concrete opportunities. Loek is an agile thinker; his approach is innovative and efficient, setting an example for the future of our sector.
When Loek says he's going to do something, he goes for it. "Can't" doesn't exist. He knows how to deal with the unexpected: he can switch gears and act immediately. He is the best at putting together a high-quality media package, informing the press, and getting them excited.
Founders rarely lack ideas, commitment or expertise. They lack an independent person who understands enough of the full picture to challenge the assumptions everyone inside the business has learned to accept.
For four years I ran 40+ growth programmes for small businesses. I then co-founded a cycling media company and learned how honest, specific stories can move riders, partners and international media. Today, through Cycling Incubators B.V., I work close to founders while bringing in specialist talent only where it creates real value.
The work has contributed to 110M+ earned impressions, 10,000+ qualified product leads, recurring international clients and partnerships exceeding €100K in value. Those are not four separate tricks. They came from understanding what mattered, expressing it clearly and acting before the opportunity disappeared.
I do not arrive with generic answers. I ask the questions specialists often skip, connect what appears unrelated and help turn clarity into decisions, experiments and growth that your team can continue without me.

The strongest fit is not a specific industry. It is a proven business whose product, expertise or opportunity is more valuable than its current story and commercial system make visible.
In 30 minutes, we explore where value may be getting lost between what you have built and what the market currently sees. If I am not the right partner, I will say so.
Plan an Outside-In conversationFor an established independent founder or expert who needs sharper positioning, stronger choices and a second strategic mind. The same three phases, calibrated to a smaller organisation.
Monthly online build session, founder walk and direct access, moving through Reveal, Sharpen & test, and Embed. Scope reflects the complexity of the business and the number of stakeholders involved.
For higher-stakes positioning, stakeholder alignment and growth activation. The partnership can expand to additional sessions, customer research, specialist direction and international on-site work.
Every proposal follows a Founder Value Diagnostic, because revenue alone does not determine the work required. The minimum partnership is six months: long enough to reveal the real opportunity, test it and embed what proves valuable. After month six, the partnership continues month by month. For partners outside the Netherlands and Belgium, in-person sessions are grouped into focused visits rather than monthly travel.
A 30-minute conversation about the value you have built, the people who still need to understand it and the opportunity that deserves attention first.
